We’ve learned more in the last 4 years from the head-on, dive-in, nose-to-the-grindstone and don’t-look-back time that we founded Urbanna Farm than we have in any formal education setting, except for maybe the soil class that Andy took at the Georgia Organics Conference. 😉
It all started in Andy’s backyard with a few (actually 15 which was way over the legal limit) chickens, then bees (which also weren’t legal), then rabbits and always a garden. We maxed out the urban farming setting and moved on to pastures. You can find us on the farm most days weeding, planting, chasing any number of escapees, butchering (might explain any number of escapees), moving compost, feeding animals, milking a cow, saving seeds, washing dishes, harvesting honey, splitting wood, canning veggies, making plans, studying His Word, sweating, crying, laughing, building, smoking meat, fixing any number of broken things and making plans. We’re always hoping, praying, working, resting, teaching a little, learning a lot and enjoying this amazingly crazy life.
